Treasure Search is a gameplay mechanic and an ability present in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. It allows the player to find the hidden treasure that is invisible in a dungeon.
Hyperdimension Neptunia[]
The Treasure Search ability can only be used by certain characters. When the Treasure Search ability is put to use, an arc of light is streamlined through the location of the hidden treasure. The hidden treasure will only then become visible in the form of a blue treasure box if utilized near its exact spot. The player must wait for the ability to recharge before being able to put to use again.
Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2[]
Treasure Search is refashioned in a way different from Hyperdimension Neptunia. Instead of being limited to certain characters, any character can use the ability. Treasure Search can be used anytime without having to wait for it to recharge. When used, a purple sonar wave is emitted from the character. When the hidden treasure, assuming the form of an orange orb, is in range of the sonar wave, it becomes visible.
The icon representing the hidden treasure is hidden in a map unless it's made visible by the ability or by having the Dowsing Rod DLC installed.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory[]
The system is identical to mk2. The only difference is the DLC needed to be installed for the hidden treasure's icon to always appear on the map without having to use the Treasure Search ability. The aforementioned DLC is Loveless Eye.
