Hyperdimension Neptunia New Birth: Uprising (超次元ゲイム ネプテューヌ新しい誕生: 蜂起, Chōjigen Geimu Nepuchūnu Atarashī Tanjō: Hōki, lit. Super Dimensionial Game Neptunia New Birth: Uprising) is a role-playing video game released on Japan in May 20, 2025 and North America in September 10, 2025 on Xbox One and PS4. This story takes place a few million years before the creation of the first gods and goddesses, a woman, living in Celestia, had discovered a way to become one without drawing the energy of any creature in the Ultradimension but by acquiring such power, he will become an overpowered god and forge a legend that will spread across dimensions for years to come: the king of the gods was born. A few years later, during the fall of Tari, a nation named Ucros ruled by Blue Heart was taken in full force and destroyed by Rei Ryght. A terrible fight took place between the two deities in the Ultradimension until a mysterious phenomenon occurred, the powers of Blue Heart skyrocketed and his aura turned purple. and pink with its usual blue color as well as its eyes change color and turn silver, the legend was reborn. In the world of Neptune, the nations live peacefully until the sky becomes stormy and a silhouette appears from the sky and hits the ground causing a shockwave. The CPUs had to prepare themselves until they saw through the smoke that the silhouette had transformed giving off an immense power which paralyzed them in place. Suddenly, a portal opens allowing Rei Ryght to pass and ready to take revenge on Blue Heart in the Hyperdimension and so began the story of the new king of the gods: Blue Heart, with his friends.

Thanks to the world of Neptune, Shido Himekawa can acquire the NEXT Form to male appearances.

Plot

Ending 1: Farewell My Friends (after defeating Nightmare Heart for the first time)

After bidding farewell to his friends, as well as to his mother, Shido gives a deafening scream and releases all of his stored energy as an enormous, golden-yellow explosion that can be seen from miles away. In addition to turning his body into a stone statue and devastating the landscape, this attack is able to destroy most of Nightmare Heart's body, leaving only confetti bits behind. However, due to Kurome's regeneration ability, she is able to reform her body, rendering Shido's explosion and sacrifice in vain.

Ending 2: King of the Gods Reborn (after defeating Nightmare Heart for the second time after completing the main story)

The CPUs are amazed as Shido's white-hot shares energy lights up the arena. Breathing deeply again, Shido gathers the shares energy around him into his body and reverts back into Next Blue. Watching this, Nightmare Heart realizes that she must respond in kind, and powers up even further, giving off tremendous heat of her own. Nightmare Heart concentrates her shares energy into a single ball that she fires at Next Blue, but Next Blue appears behind her holding the ball in his hand. Crushing the shares energy ball, the now shining Next Blue moves towards Nightmare Heart, dodging her punch and landing a few attacks of her own. The CPUs continue to be impressed at Next Blue's newfound power, and Shido's mother declares that this is indeed a super turn of events. Noire and Neptune can tell that, incredibly enough, Shido has managed to reach the completed version of NEXT Form. As Next Blue goes on knocking Nightmare Heart around with ease, the glow surrounding his body clears to reveal he now sports radiant silver and blue hair and silver eyes.

Shido has finally achieved the complete form of NEXT Form and tells Nightmare Heart that their true battle begins now as Nightmare Heart is frustrated by the setback. In the battlefield, Blue Sister is interested to see how Ultra Next Blue will face against Nightmare Heart, and how their battle will conclude. Ultra Next Blue continues to fight Nightmare Heart with what he describes as "their" power and eventually defeats him, but Nightmare Heart still refuses to accept the importance of friendship or trust; doing so would mean denying all that she has stood for up until now. Nightmare Heart claims she will easily wipe out the power Ultra Next Blue believes in and aims a blast at the stands which Ultra Next Blue quickly deflects. Angered, Ultra Next Blue says that he might not be a hero of justice, but he won't forgive those who hurt his friends and attacks Nightmare Heart with a fist full of rage. Then both savagely exchange several blows and blasts, until Ultra Next Blue takes the upper hand and finishes off Nightmare Heart with a Ultimate Kamehameha. Now Nightmare Heart is the one on the ground, defeat by Ultra Next Blue's blast.
