Chaos (カオス) is a major antagonist in Hyperdimension Neptunia Re:Start and the second member of X-Laws. She was the first female modified into a union shown within the series as well as one of the two main antagonists of the series. Nevertheless, unable to deny violent urges she felt welling up from inside of her, Chaos decided to become a union simply for the joy of fighting. Most unions view Chaos as a little more than a scavenger, as she has shown no qualms about targeting unions who were already injured from a previous fight.

Appearance[]
Chaos is a thin, young woman with heterochromia with one eye being red whilst the other black. She has red hair and dons a black ribbon in her hair. She has an unusual sense of fashion, with her outfit being composed of an exposed black sleeveless shirt (or blue) cropped top that stops short of her navels, but has a fur trim-like coat that covers parts of both arms. She also wears tight shorts that stop high on their thighs, long socks and simple combat boots. She also wears a choker on her neck.
Personality[]
Unlike the various characters in the series, Chaos is child-like and twisted. She revels in causing others pain and wants nothing more than to fight dangerous and powerful opponents. When fighting, Chaos shows a childlike glee and has no moral qualms about fighting an already injured opponent to satisfy her violent tendencies. Chaos is shown to be very loyal to Infinity, showing him affection, and apologizing for failing to complete her missions.
Initially, Chaos portrays herself as a sweet girl with average abilities and a frail body, but in reality, she is far from that. Her sweet facade belies an unhinged young woman who desires the suffering of those around her. She delights in the misforune of others, and contemplates making her victims killing their loved ones, only to berate them for how "cliche" they sound. Her behavior often meant that her superior Ecos had to tell her to behave on their mission within the Academy. In some respects, this can be attributed to her upbringing which made her seal off her emotions.
Despite her savage personality, her emotions eventually start to show. She greatly loves her organization members and is willing to sacrifice herself for them if need be. Chaos also detests losing in anything, being fiercely competitive and a sore loser.
Powers and Abilities[]
Chaos is a deft user of her Drive, and has displayed several abilities exclusive to her, such as Pain Killer, which makes her completely immune to all forms of pain - it doesn't seem to be an ability she can turn off, however, as she actually enjoys the pain which is inflicted upon her. As well as this, she is capable of using a mysterious technique that allows her to instantly deal a blow strong enough to fatally wound opponents through the means of her knives. Additionally, she is able to use strengthening magic on her body, which can even block attacks from unions as strong as Daku.
What makes her truly formidable, however, is her knowledge and usage of poisons. Her kunai are dipped in a poison which targets one's hippocampus, the part of the brain related to memories - according to Chaos, the poison destroys this part of the brain, but she does remark that she can wipe out memories and bring them back later on. In addition to her various poisons, Chaos is immune to them should they be used against her.
Chaos is also rather flexible and acrobatic, being able to strike the nape of a man's neck with her kunai mid-flip off of a tree branch. She also has the ability to manipulate her appearance through elaborate illusions. She prefers taking the appearance of anyone else thus confusing her opponents and instilling chaos in them. She can create multiple illusions without changing her appearance that not only affects her opponents mentally but also physically.
She doesn't have a crystal like the other Unions, instead sporting a wicked array of bladed, almost organic-like appendages that act as an offensive weapon that can cut into almost anything regardless of material or organic matter. These blades also absorb life forces, memories, powers, and systems which makes Chaos stronger.
Character Report[]
One of the members of Infinity and his newly created organization X-Laws, Chaos has made it her life's work to define what it means to be one of X-Laws. Despite her obsession with unproper behavior, she betrayed the Guild by helping Infinity steal an Arc Weapon. She excels at magically amplifying the abilities of others. Her revulsion towards the aristocracy of the CPUs and their endless power-grabs caused her to turn to Infinity for guidance. Convinced that Infinity alone knew of the way to become a true X-Laws rebel, Chaos became his disciple.
